I say a prayer for Bobby and all the other heroes he represents every Sunday during Mass.

I keep this video on my desktop as a reminder of the sacrifice our brave marines, seamen, soldiers, and airmen make every day. Whenever I get a little complacent about what's going on over in Iraq, I view this video and weep.

I will be proudly standing guard over our veterans cemetery today (Memorial Day).

Comments: The soldier stood and faced his God, which must always come to pass, He hoped his shoes were shining just as bright as his brass, " Step forward now you soldier, how should I deal with you?"

" Have you always turned the other cheek, to my church have you been true ?"

The soldier squard his shoulders and said," No Lord I guess I ain't,"

Cause those of us that carry guns can't always be saint, But I never took a penny that wasn't my to keep, Though I worked alot of overtime when the bills got to steep,

I never passed a cry for help, though at times I shook with fear, And Lord forgive me, I've wept unmanly tears, Lord I know I don't deserve a place among the people here, They never wanted me around, except to calm their fear,

Lord if you have a place for me here it needn't be so grand, I never wanted or expected much, if you don't I understand, " Step forward now you soldier, you have worne your burdens well, Walk peacefully on heaven's streets, you have done your time in hell."

Respectfully

There will be many extra prayers going out to Payton and your entire family today. I will truly carry the pictures of Payton in my heart forever.

Comments: I have watched video with Bobby's funeral on Youtube.

I'm from Czech republic (before Czech it was Czechoslovakia) and our state has solders in Iraq and Afghanistan too. Some people here say: Iraq's peoples should fight themselves with Saddam. But they don't say how.Saddam had army with weapons.

Situation in Iraq is not ideal,I know it.But peoples have a freedom and in 10 may be 20 years they will say-thanks american solders.

In Czechoslovakia was between 1948-1989 komunism time.We was not free.My granddad has other opinion to komunism politics than official. He was in prison. His son,my dad, cannot study on colleges. He worked as cleaner and so on.

From 1989 we are free too.But many peoples thinks that freedom is matter of fact.It is not true. For freedom we must be prepare to give a live.

This is valid on all world and Bobby and the others gave their lives. They are heroes and futures to us.Without these heroes will not be freedom.

Honour him.

Comments: Hello , I would like to send my deepest sympathies to the entire Warns family and to also Thank them for the service of Cpl.Warns.

I was looking at the recent pictures of Payton and she is getting to be a beautiful young lady, she favors her Dad and Mom too so its safe to say she has the BEST of both worlds. I too lost someone very dear to me in Iraq and yes it was a loss that still shakes me to the core. however I know that my Friend just like Bobby is looking after all of us and still has a very big place in our hearts and with that I know that they will live for as long as we do and perhaps beyond that.

I come from a VERY long line of Marines, in fact a total somewhere along the lines of 350 years "Combined" service time, and I have family and friends over there as I write this but I know the Good Lord is watching over them just as I know he is holding our fallen in his loving arms.

In closing I would just like to say Thank you and I also pray that your days are getting brighter and filling more and more with smiles and happiness. Take Care and God Bless you and God Bless this Great Country and her Military

Thank-you for the Moonlit escort the last few miles of my long trip home tonight... I imagine you and Grandpa had a huge "Welcome Home and Happy Birthday" party for Grandma this weekend... I know in my heart she is glad to be home with you and Grandpa and I am deeply comforted knowing you were there to greet her with one of your huge "Bobby" hugs. Give her one for me...

Comments: I think I initially heard of Bobby's video a few years ago through an e-mail from a friend but finally this morning, after watching it again, I wanted to just take a moment to say Thank You for such a moving tribute. I'm not entirely unfamiliar with the American military- I was in the Army for 7 1/2 years in the 80's and now my son-in-law is serving in Kosovo and my other daughter's boyfriend is stationed in Iraq. But we've never experienced the kind of sacrifice of which you and your family have endured. I can only say Thank You to a hero like Bobby and to countless others like him whose sacrifices are never fully realized and appreciated by many of the citizens of the country they defend and fight for. And thanks to you, Bobby's family, for so beautifully sharing some of your memories of Bobby with the rest of us.

Comments: To the Warn Family, and extended family members!

On the last day of 2007, I had the opportunity to visit your memorial webpage for your son, Bobby. Thank you for a brief walk in Bobby's life, your lives and the lives of those who loved him.

I'm sure that even after three years of losing him - you still miss him every day. I can't begin to understand your grief, nor will I try to.

As a Marine, who served during 1987-1991 and got out in June of 91', I can tell you this. Bobby has a great family in you and all of his close loved ones; but Bobby still to this day - has his Marine Corps family. A family of men and women who served before, during or after Bobby's military career. A family that shares blood, sweat and tears together; defending our shores!

As a Marine, you're dedication to service is unmatched by any other branch of service. Your dedication to your Corps, and the friends and family within the Marine Corps family does not waiver.

Please know that even three years later, I share in your loss and wish you nothing but joy and happiness until you're able to walk with Bobby again. He's in good hands, with our Lord and Savior - preparing to greet you all with open arms, tears of joy and return the same love that you have held so dearly for him.

I truly wish you all joy and happiness and thank you again, for a brief walk through Bobby's life.

Take care and God Bless!

Our oldest son was also a member of 2/24 at SOI when 2/24 got deployed in 2004, so he did not go to Iraq with Bobby, so he dit not meet him. He has since went full time into the Marines and is currently deployed to Iraq. He is stationed in Camp Lejuene NC. 2/24 did do some training there this summer, and Lee met up with dome of the Marines from 2/24. Our youngest son Erik, is also a Marine and is stationed at 29 Palms, CA. One of his High School buddies is with 2/24, and they have been training at 29 Palms. He recently ran into his friend out there.

2/24 will be in our prayers for there redeployment.

Perhaps it's because my own son will be here on leave for Christmas, returning from his second deployment. Words are of no use, but they are all we have. God bless Bobby Warns and all his family. I would have been proud to have known him. My son follwed at CMH a couple of years later, and then into the Corps. I am comforted to know that Bobby and his fellow Angels watch over my son and all his brothers where ever their duty has placed them. We said hello and goodbye to Bobby on that day three years ago and are fortunate to have shared that time with you all. The strength and class you demonstrated in your time of grief will always be an inspiration to me.

I hope you have found peace.

Comments: On this day my loving, creative, artistic, living life to its fullest, overall fantstic more than great cousin entered a new life and changed the lives of many. Because of Bobby I realize how important it is to appreciate something before it goes and sadly I didn't do that for Booby. The last time I said good by to him at the time I looked up to him like a super hero. I thought that he was invincible so I thought that for sure he would come back and we would go on with our lives. But I believe that everything happens for a reason and that Bobby entered heaven so then we would become a closer family and learn to appreciate our wonderful lives better. Ever since Bobby has left us he inspired me to live life to its fullest. I had always been worrying for the then and the future and looking back at the past, but because of him I have learned how to live that moment a charish it along with all the other moments. Bobby thank you for all that you have given me. You have given me courage, bravery, appreciation and many other things, but even though I thank you for these things I still miss you terribly. I wish I had one last chance to say goodbye, I would do anything for that chance. I think about you every day and pray to you that someday I will get to see you again and that day is coming soon for your daughter is sooo much like you. I see alot of you in her. Thank you for also sending part of you to us so then we can still charish you. Thank you for you daughter Peyton. I miss you so much and never forget that I always am thinking of you and that I love you.

As I reflect on last night and today the laughter the tears, especially watching the dvd of all the pictures and music of Bobby. It brought back such a wave of emotions. I see so much of Bobby in Myles his goofyness, blue eyes, sly grin its unreal. Mogan ask me today on the way to church "I thought this was suppose to get easier over time.I said maybe during the rest of the year it might be a little easier becauce we have to go on and live our lives. But on this day 11/08 it will always be hard". I look back at all that has happened in the last 3 years the easy and the hard times. Bobby shows us he is still with us in subtle ways like the moons on the floor today Bob.

Bobby watch over those men and women who are still and going to go over there to fight good fight. I know heaven is a better place because you there. We miss you terribly and are as proud as ever.

Comments: Mr. and Mrs. Warns,

I, too, will remember Bobby tomorrow, 11/8, as you observe the anniversary of his sacrifice. I saw your web site several years ago and was so moved, I encouraged many others to visit it in honor of your son. My good friend is country singer Mark Wills. I believe you've had frequent correspondence with him over the years. He's one of the best...he, too, loves our nation AND the military that defends it.

You are in our prayers.

Comments: Our son has just returned from Baghdad with the 1-101st, a National Guard unit, where he was on missions of escorting the high level persons in and out of the city. We prayed every day and our friends gave their prayers and letters...all is well now and he is safe. We so dreaded the possibility of losing him and often reconciled with that possibility with our pride in his work. You and Bobby are one heartbeat away from where we are and we will gain strength from your loss. The Lord seems to choose the strong, or the ones that have the ability to become strong, to set the mark for us all. Thank you for your strength and courage; it is courage much like your son's.

I wish so much I could meet you because I would fold you into my arms, hold you and cry with you for your loss of your beautiful son. Please know that there are millions of us out here praying that your grief will ease over the years and that you will enjoy God's gift to you in your granddaughter so that Bobby will live on in her - just as he lives on in heaven. Comments: Solider

The rough times,the forbidden crimes,

Commited just to stay alive,

Got to fight, have to kill,

This life is such a pill'

Nothing more than a shack,

Fighting to keep freedom at our back,

Risking life for others,

Risking life for my sisters and brothers, I am a solider fighting for you, I am a solider fighting for what is true, Fighting for what we love, Putting god, family, and country above, I don't know if I'll make it back, But if I don't; don't cry, Don't dress in black, Stand proud, Stand tall, Stand for one, stand for all, Just remenber I am a solider that fought for freedom, What I believed in.

Comments: I was that which others did not want to be.

I went where others feared to go, and did what others failed to do.

I asked nothing from those who gave nothing, and reluctantly accepted the thought of eternal loneliness... should I fail.

I have seen the face of terror, felt the stinging of cold fear; and enjoyed the sweet taste of a moment's love.

I have cried, pained, and hoped... but most of all, I have lived times others would say were best forgotten

At least someday I will be able to say that I was proud of what I was....

Comments: 2 days ago, I saw the funeral`s video of Bobby. In that video, I saw Bobby`s families, friends, and I also heard their words for Bobby in his funeral. 2 days have gone, almost every minute I can see Bobby`s face, just like he is standing in front of me--although we have never met before, even we did not know each other`s existences in this planet before, I still cannot believe that Bobby, a man who is so young, handsonm, so good and honest, actually has been dead already. I am... I am really sorry to convince me of this cruel factor... and I really want to tell his families--"Thank you, thank you so much for giving us such a outstanding people. Thank you very much."

I am going to your country and studying there, I hope in the future I can have a chance to go to your city , see Bobby`s families, and, our hero--Cpl. Robert P. Warns II of the United States Marine Corps.

Please forgive me because English is not my mother tongue. I might not express myself very well or in a proper way.

Again, thank you very much. God bless America.

Comments: Dear Warns Family,

I've never met your family and stumbled across your son's memorial video online. I am headed to Office Candidate School this summer so I lead and be inspired by upstanding men like your son. A lot of people ask me why I want to go into the military and why I want to be a Marine more than anything else. It is hard to say why, exactly, and I do not know what your son's reasons were. But your son is one of mine.

May God bless you all, especially Payton.

Comments: I never knew Bobby, nor the family, or even friends. I was forwarded his YOUTUBE video by a friend on 9-11. I couldn't get through it without shedding tears. It reminded me of my wife's grandfather who passed away 2 months ago...he was in the Navy and the lone still-living survivor of Pearl Harbor who belonged to the VFW in Maryland. He was honored with a 21 gun salute, the whole nine yards. He did not die in combat, just of old age. This video made me think that if he had died at Pearl Harbor, that I would have never married bis beautiful granddaughter, who is 8 months pregnant as I write this.

Your son was a man, a hero, a bright spot in a world full of craziness. I hope that one day, I will have the courage that he did.

I will pray for your family as much as I can. I am, like many others I'm sure, who feel you pain, even though we have never met.

Your son is watching over you, and is by your side. May God bless your family and friends, and all others who have grieved over your sons death.

He was, and is a true American hero.

Comments: I just found this tonight, and am very thankfull to have seen it. I was in Iraq from may-03-nov03 then again from feb-04 to feb-05 and I was there nov. the 8th when we went back to fallujia and i remeber all the people who made the ultimate sacrifice. and I prayed everytime i seen purple smoke or seen a chopper with the red cross. I was stationed at the Balad airbase where all the maine surgery takes place, and everyday I would get about 100 choclate cookies or whatever snacks i could steal from the chowhall and take it to the wounded Marines and I even sat there while day in and out Marines and Soliders were losing the battle they fought so hard in. I cant say that I rember Cpl Warns, but I might have given him some comfort with a cookie or soda or even a hand to hold while protecting me and eveyone else from that day untill I meet him and relieve him of his post at Heavens gates. Comments: I would first like to say that I am sorry for your loss, your family and this country have physically lost a great part of its heritage!

Secondly I would like to say "Thank you" to you and your family for sharing this video and this page with everyone, it is plain to see where your son's dedication and graceful spirit came from.

Shortly after my father passed away, I accepted his ritual of starting my day off with the National Anthem, a prayer for my country and for those who defend it. I have now added this video to that daily ritual. Though I never met your son, I feel that he is a part of me, a part of all who can wake up to the freedoms and liberties that we enjoy.

God bless you, your family, friends, community and those who were touched by your son's life and dedication to his family, his country and his Father in Heaven.

My prayers and those of my family are with you!!
