Comments: My prayers are with you at this time of terrible sorrow. I have bleesed to see a loved one in the Army Special Forces return home safely three times in the last three years. He is due to be discharged any day now. I can not begin to imagine your pain. What I can imagine is your pride in Bobby. Each day he was with you was a gift. Cherish your memories. Written on a memorial to fallen soldiers of WWII at my high school is an inscription I remember reading many, many times as a child: "Time will not dim the glory of their deeds." Thank you for sharing your gift of Bobby's life with all of us who await the return of loved ones. Chris

Comments: To Bobby and his family

God Bless and keep you all.

Thank you for making this video. My husband and I both serve in the military. We have a five year old son. He loves soldiers but does not understand the reason for them yet. Watching your video reminds me of why we do what we do. I often forget when I put on my uniform what kind of impact it has. I tend to think of the stresses of having to leave my son again and how hard it it on him for us to be away even for a day. Remembering Bobby and others who have fallen rekindles my awareness of why we serve our country. We live in the greatest country in the world and to serve and protect our country is an honor. The military is full of hero's and Bobby was certainly one. Thank you for all the support and love you have given. We are truly lucky to have him on our side.

God Bless you all

Comments: Dear Warns family... I graduated from CMH with Bobby. Bobby always had a smile on his face, always had a positive comment to make. I remember having fun with him at cross country meets, making the long meets more exciting.

I work as an RN in the ER at Waukesha Memorial. My mom called me at work to tell me that Bobby had passed away. I went into an empty patient room, and cried watching the news. My prayers and thoughts are with your family and the baby on the way. Bobby would be a wonderful father. the best of luck. THe movie was very moving and made me feel as if I was there. You should be proud of all Bobby has accomplished.

DON'T STAND BY MY GRAVE AND WEEP

FOR I'M NOT THERE, I DO NOT SLEEP

I AM A THOUSAND WINDS THAT BLOW

I AM THE DIAMOND'S GLINT ON SNOW

I AM THE SUNLIGHT ON RIPENED GRAIN

I AM THE GENTLE AUTUMN'S RAIN

WHEN YOU AWAKEN IN MORNING'S HUSH

I AM THE SWIFT UPLIFTING RUSH

OF QUIET BIRD'S IN CIRCLE FLIGHT

I AM THE SOFT STARS THAT SHINE AT NIGHT

DO NOT STAND AT MY GRAVE AND CRY

I AM NOT THERE, I DID NOT DIE

Peace be with you. Peri

Since I saw the video I have not been able to stop thinking of how this video touched my heart and soul and brought back many memories of the sacrifices my cousin SFC Terry Kentcy and your son made for this country. Since my cousin's death we have started a scholarship foundation in his name and the city of Kenosha has named a street in honor of my cousin as well as given him a day in his honor November 21, which we have a celebration of life every year in his honor and pass out scholarships to the inner city youth because he was a role model. I hope that you and your family can have some comfort in knowing that your son did not die in vain and although he has left you in the flesh .....his love and spirit will live on foever in your hearts and mines.

Good luck to you all and may God Bless.

Comments: Called Home...

We will never understand why God calls our loved ones home early and unexpectedly.

We just can't make sense of it, no matter how hard we try.

But we must remember that everything God does serves some purpose.

Perhaps some souls are so precious that they're needed in heaven to serve God or to comfort others; for, surely, the young whom God calls home are the purest of all souls.

Have faith in God during this time of grief.

Lay your sorrows upon His strong shoulders.

And remember that your separation is only temporary.

The time we spend on earth is so short in comparison to the time we'll spend in the Kingdom of Heaven with our loved ones.

Much joy awaits.

Comments: Although I have never personally met Cpl. Warns, I grew up in a military family and, like most Americans, feel a bond with those who wear the uniform of the United States Armed Forces. This tribute has once again reaffirmed my belief that behind every brave man and woman defending freedom there is an equally courageous family. I struggle to find words adequate enough to thank you for your sacrifice and, thus, turn to the words written by President Abraham Lincoln on November 21, 1864, to Mrs. Bixby of Boston after she lost five sons in the Civil War.

"... feel how weak and fruitless must be any words of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering to you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom."

Thank you, and may God bless your family and our nation.

Comments: To the Warns Family and Erin,

A friend shared your website with me this morning and I am so glad I took time to visit. I cannot imagine your loss and pray I never have to know your pain. My son-in-law serves with the U. S. Army and has been in Kuwait, Iraq, and Afghanistan. We almost lost him during the taking of Baghdad but, thankfully, he has returned home safely each time. As I am busy these next few days preparing for the homecoming of my daughter, “son”, and granddaughters – it is the first time they have been home in 3 ½ years - I will be remembering your family and Bobby’s ultimate sacrifice in my prayers. I pray that you will know God’s comfort and promise as you face this Christmas knowing that Bobby won’t be home because he has gone Home. And, I hope that preparing for the birth of his daughter will bring you all some joy and comfort and will help you get through these initial months.

I know that as word of Bobby’s tribute circulates through word of mouth many people will be visiting your site and reading comments left by other visitors. I would like to encourage each and every visitor to REMEMBER BOBBY and ALL the men and women who are serving in our military and the sacrifices they make for OUR freedoms. I would ask them to take a few minutes to let our troops know that they care by supporting them – there are many, many groups currently working to send our deployed troops messages of appreciation and thanks – I hope your visitors will take the time to honor Bobby and his sacrifice by sending their thanks to those who are still there. If they can’t find a group locally, I would invite them to send their messages through Operation We Care (a program started by my daughter and I while her husband was deployed), they can visit our website at http://www.operationwecare.org and send a letter to the troops via the link provided.

May God bless you all, and may He bless ALL our troops and their families!

Comments: A Marine stationed in Okinawa Japan wrote this poem. The following is his request. I think it is reasonable . . . PLEASE. Would you do me a thoughtful favor of sending this poem to as many people as you can? Christmas will be coming soon and some credit is due to our U.S. service men and women for our being able to celebrate these festivities.

--------

Twas the night before Christmas, he lived all alone, In a one bedroom house made of plaster & stone.

I had come down the chimney with presents to give And to see just who in this home did live.

I looked all about a strange sight I did see, No tinsel, no presents, not even a tree.

No stocking by the fire, just boots filled with sand, On the wall hung pictures of far distant lands.

With medals and badges, awards of all kind A sober thought came through my mind.

For this house was different, so dark and dreary, I knew I had found the home of a soldier, once I could see clearly.

I heard stories about them, I had to see more So I walked down the hall and pushed open the door.

And there he lay sleeping silent alone, Curled up on the floor in his one bedroom home.

His face so gentle, his room in such disorder, Not how I pictured a United States soldier.

Was this the hero of whom I’d just read?

Curled up in his poncho, a floor for his bed?

His head was clean shaven, his weathered face tan, I soon understood this was more than a man.

For I realized the families that I saw that night Owed their lives to these men who were willing to fight.

Soon ‘round the world, the children would play, And grownups would celebrate on a bright Christmas day.

They all enjoyed freedom each month of the year, Because of soldiers like this one lying here.

I couldn’t help wonder how many lay alone On a cold Christmas Eve in a land far from home.

Just the very thought brought a tear to my eye, I dropped to my knees and started to cry.

The soldier awakened and I heard a rough voice, "Santa don’t cry, this life is my choice; I fight for freedom, I don’t ask for more, my life is my God, my country, my Corps."

With that he rolled over and drifted off into sleep, I couldn’t control it, I continued to weep.

I watched him for hours, so silent and still, I noticed he shivered from the cold night’s chill.

So I took off my jacket, the one made of red, And I covered this Soldier from his toes to his head.

And I put on his T-shirt of gray and black, With an eagle and an Army patch embroidered on back.

And although it barely fit me, I began to swell with pride, And for a shining moment, I was United States Army deep inside.

I didn’t want to leave him on that cold dark night, This guardian of honor so willing to fight.

Then the soldier rolled over, whispered with a voice so clean and pure, "Carry on Santa, it’s Christmas Day, all is secure."

One look at my watch, and I knew he was right, Merry Christmas my friend, and to all a good night!

As a Air Force Airman who made it home safely from over there, I feel your deep pain knowing well it could be my family suffering the way yours is. Know that there are a million arms holding you up during this difficult time. Though we never met face to face, as a military family, we all feel your loss. Bobby had a wonderful upringing teaching him the values of freedom. This is what he wanted to do, is to allow others the same freedom we have. God Bless your family for giving up such a strong young man who believed in his country and wanted to serve to protect the thousands of people he never knew.

All will be secure as long as we have courageous young men and women like Bobby who stand for what they believe in. Thank you and your family for your sons strength.

Comments: No words can fill the emptyness of your heart and home. As a police officer the reality of not coming home each night is very real for my family and me. I received this link from a close friend, Blaine Oxenreider, who was in Bobby's unit and now works for Beloit, WI P.D.

While he may not physically be with you, Bobby will always be watching over you and by your side so long as you keep his spirit alive in your heart.

We often pray for our military members and families. The Lord is always watching over us and guiding us even though it may not make much sense now, it is in His plan. The streets of Heaven are much safer now with Bobby on watch.

God Bless you and your family.

I, too, was a Marine and I can empathgize with your loss. Now, I have a son who is a Navy Corpsman serving with the Seventh Marines, so I can also share the fear you felt before it became reality.

God be with you and try to take some solace in knowing another Marine has reported to Heaven for duty--he's served his time in hell.

Miss Me, But Let Me Go

Now that I've come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me I want no rites in a gloom filled room why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little, but not too long

and not with your head bowed low

remember the love we once shared.

Miss me but let me go!

For this is a journey we must all take

and each must go alone

it's all a part of the makers plan

a step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick at heart

go to the friends we knew

and bury your sorrows in doing good deeds, Miss me but let me go.

I am very sorry for what has happened to your family. I can't feel what your going through, but because my Dad is in Iraq I have the same feelins for my Dad as you had for your son, Bobby.

Whenever I think about my Dad, I think about what he is doing for our country. My Dad is my hero because he chose to go over in Iraq and fight.

I was very touched by the video of the funeral. It made me cry. It made me think of my Dad,and what would happen if he passed.

Thank you for sharing the video.

God Bless America,

Stephaine A.

This is my second Email Mr.and Mrs.Warns. I sent one 2 days ago. That last Email took 13 hours to put together from the time I heard about the website to the time I sent it off. I've thought about Bobby Warns all day yesterday and all day today. That was a very long Email I wrote. And I believe Bobby Warns would say: Im shocked to know that a complete stranger would feel that strong, spend 13 hours just to thank me for a job well done, and the ultimate sacrifice that I made. Bobby would say this guy must be nuts. (Just Kidding about the nuts sentance.) and then again from what I heard about Bobby, it could be true, with his jokeing around personality. Well Bobby might just say that.

I think Im getting to know Bobby pretty well. It must be because of all the hours I spent thinking about him.

Mr.and Mrs.Warns the main reason I'm sending this second Email, is because I believe you have started something that you can't stop. Because of Bobby warns death, you had this video made, which was a fantastic idea on your part. But I believe when you put it on the internet, your keeping Bobby alive more than you realized when you first got the idea to have this video made. By you keeping this web page on the internet I strongly believe your blazing a trail or paveing the way for a new fronteer. I believe this is what GOD has in store for Bobby warns and his family.

I believe thats why I have spent all this time with Bobby. I had the opportunity to express my heartfelt feelings about how much I appreciate Bobby and the rest of the people that have served to protect our country, our freedoms and our way of life. The Giving of themselves, unselfishly, so that others including his daughter can be born here in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, like me, and when she's about 10 years old, maybe younger, she will feel with understanding, realize with understanding, and know with understanding that she is living in the greatest country, the most free country, on the face of the earth. That her own father was one of the many that paid the ultimate price, his life, so that she had the same opportunity that her dad had, when he was alive, and grew up, doesn't ever disapear. That furture generations will also have and enjoy that same opportunity.

It's amazing the tools that are available these days to be able to produce these fantastic videos. Every day new equipment is produced for making videos. They are very moving to watch. I'll bet that every person that watched and will watch this video will have tears in their eyes. And then there is the internet to post a web page. Where people can look at the web page 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. They have a place to go to say what they have to say, or need to say. Or read what others have said.

Mr.and Mrs.Warns, from deep down in my heart, I need to thank both of you for allowing me to share with you, your greatest loss a parent could ever have and thats to bury a son or daughter.

Bobby Warns, I think I have done everything I could do to help keep your memories alive.

I think who ever reads these Emails I wrote, will know that your death was definately not in vain.

Bobby Warns it was my pleasure to help.

And to Mr.and Mrs.Warns and family if there is anything else that I can do for you, you have my Email address. Drop me a line.

Bobby Warns ----- REST IN PEACE

GOD BLESS ALL WHO HAVE FOUGHT FOR FREEDOM AND THE AMERICAN WAY OF LIFE PAST AND PRESENT

AND MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS

THE ... UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Comments: To the Warns Family and His Fiance"

I just wanted you all to know you are in our prayers. As, we too lost our future son in law LCPL Daniel Wyatt 2\24th Battalion on October 12, 2004. He was only there for 3 weeks. He stepped on a home made bomb and did not suffer. We miss him so much and as your son did, he left a fiance behind, our daughter Laura. Daniel lived with us for quite awhile and his room stands the same. It has all his memorials in it. We all still look for him in the morning to say good morning and sit with us for breakfast. He and Laura were going to Madison when he got home to finish their degrees and their dream shattered. We have a U.S. tree up for him which we won. It was very bizaar that we won it but Daniel picked it for Laura and wanted her to have it, as she told the papers. We are proud of our future son in law and salute him for what he did for us and our country. My heart goes out to you and your family. As our heart goes to our Daniel.

When Fox 6 showed the video, and said that it has been seen around the world. My husband and I saw the love, the warmth, and the sadness. But yet the heart filled sorrow, was seen in the family. And with all the responses from around the world you got on the your video. We are sure that you’re video and the all the people writing in are sharing in the support in helping to bring all of us closer together. And in helping to keep our nation a much safer place to live. And with you showing it on TV. My husband and I do firmly believe that with this video is a step in the right direction to make the entire world a much caring world, and safer. We have two nephews in the service.

Thank you for letting us see your video and yes it did bring tears.

Our hearts are with all of you.

Comments: What a wonderful and fitting tribute to your son, thank you for sharing and allowing others to share your grief.

When I first joined the Marine Corps as a 17 year old kid from Wauwatosa, WI, back in 1963, I never imagined what would lie ahead for me a year later. I can still remember sitting by my bunk at Camp Schwab, Okinawa, watching the Armed Forces TV about a county called “VIETNAM” and asking others, “Where is Vietnam?” Several weeks later, I would be one of the members of the first Marine Combat Unit to land in DaNang,Vietnam.

Many civilians in the United States did not support the war and at first it was very difficult for us to understand why we were there when just about every day someone we knew was either killed or wounded. Other than direct family, it appeared nobody else cared. All we heard about was the “college protesters” and “people deserting to Canada”.

I would like to share a letter that was written by another member of my unit, Corporal John Loraine on 15 Feb 65 and sent to his local newspaper back home. After reading this letter, I knew WHY and have never forgotten.

After almost 40 years since this letter was written, only ONE word needs to be changed: TERRORISM instead of COMMUNISM.
==================

“Dear Americans:

Not reds, whites, blacks or yellows but Americans. I appeal to you as Americans, one nation, United in the greatest fight the world will ever know. The dark cloud of Communism is rapidly filling the skies and blocking the shining light of Freedom from this earth.

I appeal to you as Americans to stand and be counted, to back your President and leaders and in turn your country. Now is the time to say, “I am an American and I am willing to make any sacrifice necessary to keep freedoms bell ringing.”

Communism is an international disease, a cancer that is trying to engulf the whole world. We must be willing to make sacrifices and endure any sufferings put before us in order to bring about the cure.

It is time to come out of your shells Americans; it is time to make a stand for America’s ideals. Many men have already died that our children might be raised in freedom. These men have spilled their blood for you.

Every thing is alright as long as it is somebody else getting shot at, somebody else lying in their own blood. Well Americans, it is time, time to say, “We are willing to die for what we believe in if necessary.” It is time to give our children what was presented to us with the blood of every man that died for his country before us. Now is the time to unite, to fight for everything we believe in.

America must not falter now, for the world watches. But more important, America must continue to be the shining light, the example to the rest of the world. We must show them that we truly love this great country of ours, and that we stand behind Old Glory no matter what the price. To die for our country is the greatest gift we could ever hope to give her. To live in freedom, knowing that we have done our part to preserve it is her gift to us.
=====

Although the time and place is different the cause is the same and the MARINES were there too, Corporal Warns was in this war and made the ultimate sacrifice for his country.

Marines are a very special band of brothers, and they share a loyalty that is not experienced by any other branch of service and is as strong today as it ever was.

As long as we have memories, we will never forget.

Rest in Peace my friend.

Comments: I want to express my deepest sympathy for your loss. Bobby was a true American who loved his country. He will always be remembered as a hero.

As a Christian, I know that, as our Lord said to the thief on the cross, "today you wil be with me in Paradise", Bobby has found the best place. A place that God has prepared for us that is goodness beyond our imagination.

It is very hard to say this to you now, I am sure, but I feel it is important. Our lives on this earth are short, 100 years at most. Our lives in heaven are for eternity. There will be so, so many years to live without pain and suffering and wars.

The purpose of this life is to serve God. As a Marine serving the United States of America, Bobby was on God's side. It is difficult to understand now, but until the day when all is revealed to us, we must believe by faith.

The end of this present life is forthcoming, the way to Armegeddon is through Iraq. There will be a special place in heaven for the martyrs. Now you feel the unbearable pain, then you will feel the unbearable joy and peace and love thas is our promise.

May God touch your hearts in a special way and may His peace, thats surpasses all man's understanding, be with you. Paul

What a great thing these young men and women are doing for us, and some have given their lives for us. Thank you. The reason I was given this email is because I know the piper that played for Bobby. We have a young man in our bagpipe group that is over in Iraq right now serving as a front gunner in the Marines. Every time I hear that another person was killed I get such a sick feeling. I can't imagine what you guys have gone through. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Comments: I am a Vietnam War Veteran, & I too grieve for your loss. The video was very well made and my wife & I cried through the whole video. I feel it did justice for your son. I am very glad you had a video made and put it on the Internet for all to see, that no loss of life goes unnoticed. It is getting media attention. I have great feelings with every life lost in the war in Iraq. But don't think it was for nothing. In November, an Army Lieutenant returned from Iraq. He quoted all of the good the USA & all supporting military are doing. Electricity where there was none, clean water to people that never had any, Hospitals, Schools, etc. are operational and the list goes on and on. The good being done there far surpasses anything I can say. And, the people in Iraq are glad we are there. They are helping single out the remaining dissidents. Have Faith that our Lord Jesus Christ had a more important mission for Bobby. Bobby sounds like the person that I would have liked to know.

There is nothing like the loss of a loved one, but in your case I profoundly hope that the pain of your loss is compensated by the knowledge that he gave his life in a noble cause--the cause of human freedom. His sacrifice helps to make a free and peaceful future for his family and millions of others in this great country. The cinematography, the music and the limited speaking combine to produce a beautiful portrayal of a noble life and a sorrowful moment. God bless your family, all who helped to produce this tribute, and the United States of America.

I am so sorry for your loss, I can only partially imagine what it is that you are going through. My boyfriend is currently serving in Iraq, this Christmas will be hard for all of us, but the loss we feel not having him home with us cannot begin to compare to the loss that you feel not having Bobby home with you. He will be remembered as a hero. I admire him for giving his life to serve his country for those that cannot fight for themselves, like his daughter. Though she will never be able to meet him on this earth I am certain that she will be told many stories about the wonderful man her father was. May God be with all of you, remember that Bobby is in a better place.

I also wanted to say that the video was very touching. Thank you for allowing the world to view it.

I was Bobby's neighbor and friend when we lived on Cramer. He was such an awesome guy. He always had a big smile on his face, and a big heart to match it. There were many times that he would come to our apartment or I would go to his and we would throw back a few beers and talk to the wee hours of the morning. I really enjoyed that and will never forget it. I really enjoyed having him as my friend and I will never forget him.

It's one thing when its a car accident, but he was fighting for us and our country. I wish all of you the best. Comments: I feel horrible for the family or CPL Bobby Warns, my warmest feeling go out to them and their loved ones and family. I do not know what it is like to lose a son or a brother or lover in war, but I have lost a brother to a brain tumor. All I can say is that what your son has done is the greatest thing he could ever do. Even though I do not plan on joing the Marine Corp, I am planning to join the army when I get out of high school. I already know what I want to do with my life, and I am only 16 years old. I had cancer at the age of 13 and just had surgery this past summer on my stomach. I believe that what God is putting me through is a test, a test of courage and bravery, something I will need in the Army. While your son has put down his gun, I will be sure to pick it up again. I will take up your son's fight, I will defend the United States of America in his name and my own. God Bless You all. Rest In Peace Marine CPL RObert P. Warns II. You Will Not Be Forgotten.

My family has several former U.S. Military people. My father was in the Marines during Vietnam and, thank God, never got sent over. I am only 18 and it saddens me to hear of any Americans who were killed in Iraq, especially those close to my age. I pray for those over in Iraq daily when I pray for my friend. God Bless your family now and forever. Hope you have a Merry Christmas.

Comments: I am breathless at the loss of your son, but I am only breathless because he gave his life so that I could be breathless.

We will have a Christmas only because he gave his life for us.

We will bring in a New Year only because he gave his life for us.

We will live in Freedom only because your son gave his life for us.

I too have served in the military, as did my father in law so that Bobby could make the choice to give his life for us. It is the greatest loss for your family, but it is the ultimate gain for this country that patriotism is alive and well as represented by the short life of your son. I am sure that all of those values will be passed on to his child.

God bless you ,and your family for the greatest gift to the meaning of I am an American.

Comments: As a Viet Nam veteran and a human being I offer my condolences for your loss. Remeber, as long as Bobby is in your heart, he can never be truly gone. As a Native American our beliefs teach us that we will be united again with our ancestors and our families when we cross over to the great village on the other side. It is there that Bobby awaits you with love in his heart.

Black Thunder, a Native American from the Fox nation once said: "It is a truth, a melancholy truth, that the good things which men do are often buried in the ground, while their evil deeds are stripped naked and exposed to the world."

You have had to lay one of the best things you have done in the ground, while the evil continues in Iraq.

May the Great Spirit watch over you and your family and protect you from the evil that continues to run afoul on this planet.

Comments: The most touching tribute I have ever seen. I am so thankful for the men and women of our military. As I watched the video, my daughter waved to the screen and said hello. I was touched in a way that I have never felt before. At the end of the video she said bye-bye. It made me appreciate even more the sacrifice that our men and women make every day to allow us the opportunity to live in freedom. God bless us all and God bless Bobby.

Comments: We had the pleasure of having Bobby with us last spring at our condo in Florida, along with our son, Jon, and daughter Megan. Bobby and Jon were primarily interested in enjoying the sun and a few adult refreshments at the pool and beach. During the spring break season some of the permanent residents can get a little edgy about the influx of young people and can get to be sticklers about noise, condo rules, etc. Bobby picked up on this and immediately started charming the older ladies at the pool. He had them in the palm of his hand. The guys were able to enjoy themselves as they pleased, and had no problems with the "pool police."

We had a great week. Even though Jon and Bobby have been buddies for years, it was great for us to get to spend some time with him and get to know him better. What a great guy!

Dear Bill and Jan,

Thank-you so much for sharing this delightful story with us! As soon as I started reading it, I knew how it was going to turn out:)

Bobby had a way with women of all ages - they just couldn't stay mad at him!!!

God Bless

Comments: I did not know Bobby personally. I do know what Bobby was made of through the wonderful way his family has chosen to honor him. He was made of courage, faith, and a heart of gold.

I know the family and friends of Bobby miss him terribly and my heart goes out to them in their loss...it was my loss too. It was a loss to us all.

I am blessed to have a son that I love with all my heart. I cannot imagine the pain of losing him. I am thankful for Bobby and all of the troops serving our country for providing the very protections to make this country safe for my son to grow up in. I will always be grateful.

Bobby would be so very proud of his family and friends for this loving tribute, and I am sure he is smiling down on you from Heaven. His legacy will live on always, and his daughter will be living proof that he did not die in vain.

As long as there are memories love lives on. Hold those memories close, and Bobby will be with you always. May he rest in peace.

Sincerely,

Comments: Dear Warns Family:

We just viewed the video of your beloved son, Bobby, and it brought tears to our eyes. Even though I (Mary Beth) don't know you, my husband, Jack, remembers you from the time you lived in our neighborhood. He recognized Mrs. Warns on TV yesterday and then he connected the Warns name with your family.

We are so very sorry for your loss ... you are very strong people, due to your faith in God, no doubt, to share your grief with everyone. This video is so wonderful and will be such a welcome gift to your new granddaughter, when she is born. It also brings to everyone's attention the fact that your son died for our freedom as a U.S. Marine and that we, the American people, should be proud and grateful for your son and others like him.

You must be so proud of him and what he stands for ... we think the Marines are, no doubt, the elite of all the Armed Forces. My husband's nephew served in the Marines for the past 4 years and was in Iraq when the war started in March 2003. He is now at home after being honorably discharged. We have only the highest respect for the United States Marine Corp.

Thank you so much for sharing this video with the American people and for sharing your feelings by agreeing to be interviewed on the local television stations. It brought this video to our attention ...

Please keep this website open for as long as you can as it gives all of us a reminder of just how lucky we are to have people like your son fighting for our freedom.

PS It was so good to see St. Mary's Parish again as we used to belong there. We have since changed parishes, but it was good to see it again. It's a beautiful church!

I pray for your family in your time of loss.

We have a friend and co-worker who was just activated into full duty service in the USMC with orders to go to Iraq, I forwarded info on the video to all who we work with as a reminder of the honor of service those who have gone before them and the spiritual debt we all owe to the men who serve on our behalf.

Comments: As I watched this video all I could do was cry. I can't imagine the loss and sorrow your family is experiencing. Every time I hear that another soldier has been killed I pray to God that a resolution to this war will come quickly and that no more lives have to be sacrificed. I pray for the soldiers and their families so that they don't have to go through the pain and sorrow that your family is going through. Your video made the pain and reality of the sacrifice so much more real for those of us who don't have a loved one in Iraq but who still feel the pain whenever another soldier is taken from us. Thank you for sharing your son with us. He is a true hero for putting himself on the line to make this country a safer place. To Peyton--your daddy sacrificed his life for you and everyone who will come after you, you should be proud of him. I only wish you could have known him but I am sure as an angel in heaven he will be watching over you always.

God Bless You All!!

Comments: As a 5 year old child, I saw my first Marine in dress blues and wanted to wear the uniform. Several years later, at age 19, I joined the Marine Corps. That was in 1954, 50 years ago. Even though I'm many years older than Bobby, both of us are part of a brotherhood that cannot ever be taken from us. Being a Marine means much more than wearing the uniform. It is an attitude toward life--and death. Semper fidelis is much more than a motto. It is our way of life and a reason for dying.

I am very sorry for your loss. Bobby is certainly a true American hero. I beleive that as Americans, we should often reflect on the sacrifices made by those who have given all to preserve our way of life and keep this country the great place that it is. Even though we were never friends, it still hit me hard because I knew who he was and I saw him almost everyday for 3 years of my life. I have a very close friend in Tikrit right now, and I don't know what I would do if I lost him. I remember the day that it happened and it was on the news, my friend called me and she told me to watch. I immediatly started crying, I couldn't believe it. You never think that it will happen to someone that you know. After hearing about this website from some people that I work with, I can't stop watching it over and over, my heart breaking for all of you over and over and a little more each time. Bobby always had a smile on his face when I saw him in the halls of CMH. I will never forget him, fallen hero. To Erin - you probably wouldn't know me by name, but my deepest sympathys go out to you also, but be strong for that little girl that is on the way and congratulations, even though that is probably the last thing that you want to hear at this point.
